We’re seeking public assistance in relation to the dumping of a 15-year-old male cat named Stitch inside a zip-tied garbage bag on Gorge Road in Millbrook.
Poor Stitch was severely underweight and had an infected wound on his stomach, which he’s having surgery for this morning. He’s surprisingly friendly for a cat who’s been through such a traumatic ordeal.
SA Police officers found Stitch by chance while on patrol around 6pm on Monday evening. They noticed a garbage bag inside a cardboard box, which had been dumped on the side of Gorge Road heading towards Cudlee creek, about 600 metres before the intersection with Torrens Hill Road.
Stitch’s original owners had reported him missing 3 months ago, after he vanished from their Paradise property. They reported hearing a car door slam on the night of his disappearance.
